The Meridian Public School District Director of Public Relations works with the Superintendent, administrators, staff, community, and media to provide accurate, up-to-date information as well as highlight the successes of our district and schools. Media relations, crisis communications, photos, newsletters, events, communication policy, recognitions, social media management, and image management are all part of the Communication Department.
MPSD uses a variety of methods to communicate general, day-to-day news as well as emergency alerts (such as weather-related school closures). Be sure to follow the Meridian Public School District on Facebook, Instagram (@mpsdwildcas), and Twitter (@MPSD_Wildcats).

MHS JROTC to compete in Washington, DC
Following two online rounds of rigorous competition against teams from all over the world, the Meridian High School’s JROTC Academic Team, comprised of Sh’Nyiia Kelley, Ly’Kecia Cole, Bobby Lewis IV, and Taderriyon Forbes, has secured a coveted spot in the Championship event in Washington, DC.

MHS' Walker named Star Student, Pulido selected as Star Teacher
Congratulations to MHS Senior George Walker on being selected as the Meridian High School STAR STUDENT for the 2023-2024 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) Students Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Walker selected Ross Collins instructor Marti Pulido as his STAR Teacher.
