Driver's Education
Description:
Designed to help students meet lifetime skills of operating an automobile as safely and efficiently as possible. There are three phases in the program, classroom study, simulation, and behind the wheel. The classroom study teaches students the rules, regulations, and proper attitude needed to be a successful participant in the highway transportation system. The simulation phase uses computerized mock-up cars to a series of filmed situations. The behind the wheel phase is when the student actually drives behind the wheel of an automobile.

Family Dynamics is a course that utilizes skills in critical thinking, decision-making, communication, conflict management, and resource management as they relate to personal development and responsible family decisions.

JROTC Leadership Education and Training Program I-IV
Description:
The JROTC mission is "To motivate young people to be better Americans." the Leadership Education and Training (LET) Program focuses primarily on developing the student's leadership abilities and his/her appreciation of American citizenship. The program objectives are designed to help the student (1)demonstrate a knowledge of the rights, responsibilities, privileges, and freedoms that underline good citizenship; (2) display leadership potential and the ability to live and work cooperatively with others; (3) demonstrate the ability to think logically and to communicate effectively through both oral and written communication; (4) describe the importance of diet and demonstrate the importance of physical fitness in maintaining good health and appearance; (5) demonstrate an understanding of the history, purpose, and structure of Army JROTC; (6) demonstrate proficiency in basic military skills such as drill and ceremonies, first aid, and map reading that are necessary for working effectively as a member of a team; (7) describe the importance of citizenship through American history as it relates to American culture and future from the Revolutionary period to present. Instruction includes classroom and outside activities, extracurricular events such as color guards, cannon crew, drill and saber teams, drill meets, community service projects, and field trips, as well as field training for selected students during the summer. Uniforms and study materials are provided at no cost to the student, unless items are lost or damaged. Students are expected to pay for lost or damaged items.
