The Meridian Public School District's athletic program is an integral part of the total educational experience. Research demonstrates that participation in extracurricular athletics and activities is associated with higher academic achievement. Athletes have celebrated both individual and team successes, consistently placing in the district, state, and national rankings throughout the years.
We believe in high standards and expectations. Personal conduct and academic achievement are integral to participation and success in the athletic arena. Staff members consistently monitor the progress of our student-athletes in order to assist them in maximizing their ability to succeed both academically and athletically.

Meridian's Powe wins MaxPreps Player of the Year award
Meridian High School’s Debreasha Powe has been named the MaxPreps Mississippi High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

MHS Boys, Girls take home top team honors at Big Blue Invitational
Meridian High School Track and Field hosted the Big Blue HS Invitational at Ray Stadium on Monday March 22, 2021. The Wildcats and Lady Wildcats took home top team honors. Sixteen different teams from around the state participated in the event.
