Congratulations to the SUPERIOR Magnolia Middle School Symphonic Band!

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Magnolia Middle School Symphonic Band, composed of thirty-nine talented sixth through eighth graders, traveled to Fulton, Mississippi to participate in the 2026 Itawamba Community College Band Festival, where they were evaluated in both concert performance and sight-reading.

“We are proud to announce that the band earned straight 1s (I, I, I) on stage, achieving the first Superior Rating (I) in recent history,” said Aveian Hardin, Magnolia Middle School Band Director. “This is a monumental accomplishment and a core memory for our students, school, and district.”

In sight-reading, the band earned an Excellent Rating (II+). For context, sight-reading allows only eight minutes to study a new piece of music before performing it, making this achievement especially impressive. With continued hard work, these students will only excel!

The dedication of our student musicians, along with the leadership of Band Director Mr. Aveian Hardin, has fostered a culture of community, positivity, and a genuine love for music within our program.

Once again, congratulations to the SUPERIOR Magnolia Middle School Symphonic Band on this historic achievement!
