Meridian High School’s National Art Honor Society opened its doors on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, for the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, welcoming families, friends, and community members in the spirit of art, service, and support for those in need.

For a $10 donation, guests enjoyed a warm serving of soup, along with a beverage and dessert. Each attendee also took home a handcrafted ceramic bowl or art piece created by Meridian High School art students, serving as a meaningful reminder of the event’s purpose: addressing food insecurity within the community.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Love’s Kitchen in Meridian, an organization dedicated to feeding individuals and families who may otherwise go without. Through their participation, supporters directly contributed to local efforts to provide meals and care to residents in need.

NAHS students spent weeks preparing unique ceramic pieces and selling tickets ahead of the event. Their work demonstrated creativity, leadership, and service, values strongly reflected in the National Art Honor Society and throughout Meridian High School.

The community’s turnout and generosity helped transform a simple bowl into a symbol of support, hope, and nourishment. For more information about future events, contact the Meridian High School Art Department.
