Four MPSD Students Selected for Mississippi All-State Honor Choir

Meridian Public School District is celebrating the outstanding musical accomplishments of four talented students who earned spots in the Mississippi All-State Honor Choir.

Congratulations to Meridian High School students Makiyah Rush, Geraldine Medrano-Uriostegui, and T’Ondrea McMiller, along with Magnolia Middle School student Zurie Anderson, on this remarkable achievement!

Each student completed a competitive audition process to earn a place among Mississippi’s outstanding young vocalists. More than 380 students auditioned for the Mississippi All-State Honor Choir, making their selection a significant accomplishment.

Their achievement reflects their hard work, dedication, musical talent, and commitment to excellence in the performing arts.

The students will represent the Meridian Public School District when they perform with the Mississippi All-State Honor Choir November 16–18 on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.

MPSD is proud to celebrate these talented students and the dedication they have demonstrated throughout the audition process. Their success is another example of how our students are developing their gifts and pursuing excellence through the arts.

Congratulations, Makiyah, Geraldine, T’Ondrea, and Zurie! We are proud of you!
