Holiday Harmonies fill MHS Auditorium

The Meridian High School Auditorium came alive with music, spirit, and seasonal joy as the Meridian High School Choirs presented a beautifully arranged winter performance. Family, friends, and community members gathered to experience an evening of vocal talent, featuring selections from the Junior Varsity Choir, Lamplighters, and Concert Choir.
The program opened with two selections from the full Meridian High School Choirs. Seasons of Love set an inviting tone for the night, featuring a heartfelt solo by Jenai Payne. The choir followed with Cantar spotlighting soloists Precious Munguia and Delilah Dezarraga, who carried the piece with clarity and confidence.
The Junior Varsity Choir continued the program with Come and See the Baby. Soloists Makiyah Rush and Sa’Rigi Dock delivered a performance filled with warmth and expression, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The Lamplighters, known for their sharp blend and musical precision, offered two standout selections of their own. Their rendition of Carol of the Bells carried the tone of the season with ringing intensity, followed by Total Praise showcasing rich harmonies and emotional depth.
The Concert Choir closed the evening with three pieces, beginning with Glow by Eric Whitacre, a serene and atmospheric work that highlighted the group’s unified sound. Next came White Winter Hymnal, featuring soloits Patrick Baylor, Jaaslyn Griffin, Victorian Jackson, Haylee Stockman, and Isaac Yates. The final selection, This Christmas, sent the audience into the holiday season with energy, rhythm, and festive cheer.
The night concluded with Ringin’ Them Bells performed by the combined Meridian High School Choirs, filling the auditorium one last time with joyful sound.
The event stood as a celebration of student dedication, musical discipline, and the vibrant arts culture of Meridian High School. Performers left the stage proudly, and guests departed with the spirit of the season carried in song.
