MPSD Attendance Team Focuses on Student Success Through Daily Attendance

The MPSD Attendance Team meets on October 1, 2025, at the MPSD Central Office.

The Meridian Public School District Attendance Team gathered today at the Central Office for a collaborative meeting focused on one important goal: ensuring that students are present and engaged in school every day.

During the meeting, team members discussed strategies and shared ideas aimed at improving student attendance across the district. Topics included strengthening communication with families, implementing early intervention plans, and creating engaging school environments that encourage regular attendance.

“Attendance is directly connected to student achievement,” said Dr. Jackie McFarland, MPSD Director of Student Services and PBIS. “When students are in school every day, they are more likely to succeed academically, build strong relationships, and stay on track for future opportunities.”

The district’s renewed focus on attendance is part of its ongoing commitment to student success. By working together and partnering with families and the community, MPSD is dedicated to helping every student show up, stay engaged, and reach their full potential.

Attendance matters! Every day counts in MPSD!
