Jerlisa Jemison Named Assistant Principal of Parkview Elementary School for 2026–2027 School Year

The Meridian Public School District is proud to announce Jerlisa Jemison as the new Assistant Principal of Parkview Elementary School, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

A familiar and trusted presence within the district, Jemison brings 12 years of experience in education, all of which have been dedicated to serving students and educators within Meridian Public Schools. Her journey in education began in the classroom, where she taught grades 2 through 4, building strong academic foundations and nurturing student growth during critical learning years.

Throughout her career, Jemison has taken on leadership roles that extend beyond the classroom. She has served as a lead teacher, contributing to instructional improvement and supporting her colleagues in delivering high-quality instruction. Most recently, she has worked as an Academic Interventionist, where she has focused on closing academic gaps and helping ensure that all students meet grade-level expectations. In this role, she has also provided targeted support to teachers, reinforcing effective instructional strategies and fostering student success.

Jemison’s commitment to education is rooted in her passion for making a meaningful difference. She has consistently worked to empower both students and educators, helping them grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.

“As an assistant principal, I aspire to make a lasting, positive impact on every teacher, student, and parent I encounter,” said Jemison. “I will do this by providing meaningful support to teachers, building strong systems, and fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.”

Her deep connection to the Meridian community, combined with her instructional expertise and leadership experience, makes her a strong addition to the Parkview Elementary leadership team.
