Poplar Springs Fifth Graders Shine in “The Lion King Experience”

Poplar Springs Elementary’s fifth graders took center stage on Friday, October 31, 2025, bringing Disney’s The Lion King Experience to life in a vibrant and heartwarming performance.

Under the direction, Lydia Brand, PSE Fine Arts Teacher; students transformed into the beloved characters of Pride Rock — from Simba and Nala to Timon, Pumbaa, and the mighty Mufasa. The production featured colorful costumes, energetic choreography, and memorable songs that showcased the students’ hard work and creativity.

The Lion King Experience is more than just a play — it’s an educational journey that helps students learn about storytelling, teamwork, and stage production. Over the past several weeks, fifth graders studied character development, music, and stage design, gaining valuable experience both on and off the stage.

Families, teachers, and fellow students filled the audience with pride and applause as the young performers shared their talents. The event was a true celebration of the arts and a testament to the dedication of Poplar Springs Elementary’s staff and students.
