West Hills Elementary Black History Month Program

West Hills Elementary School proudly hosted its annual Black History Month Program on Friday, February 21, 2025, celebrating the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans.

The event, held at the school, featured a variety of student-led performances, including heartfelt speeches, poetry recitations, and musical presentations. Students took the stage with confidence, paying tribute to historical figures, civil rights leaders, and cultural icons who have shaped the nation.

The program also included a powerful selection of songs and artistic performances, all honoring the resilience and achievements of the Black community. Teachers, staff, and families filled the audience, showing their support and appreciation for the students’ hard work in preparing for the event.

The program featured guest speaker Percy Bland and was closed with remarks by West Hills Principal Dr. Jackie McFarland.
