    Meridian High School is in the unique position of being the only public high school in the city of Meridian, Mississippi, an urban community of approximately 44,000.  The city serves as a regional trade center for eight rural communities in east Mississippi and west Alabama.  We are the home of the WILDCATS and our school colors are royal blue and white. 

    Mission Statement 

    The mission of Meridian High School is to provide a relevant and challenging curriculum to help students reach their maximum educational and social potential in a safe and secure learning environment.

  • Douglass announced as new MHS Football Coach

    Meridian Public School District is proud to announce the hiring of John Douglass as the new head football coach of the Meridian High School Wildcats. Coach Douglass is a 1987 graduate of Meridian High School and brings more than 10 years of head coaching and over 20 years of educational experience to Meridian High School. As the son of a naval fighter pilot, Douglass spent his formative years moving to and from military bases around the country. His family settled in Meridian when his father retired from military service while being stationed at Naval Air Station Meridian. In 1985, Meridian High School won the state championship while he played on the offensive line.

  • MHS celebrates the Class of 2019

    May 24, 2019- The Class of 2019 is leaving Meridian High School with over $3.2 million in scholarship offers to continue their education at colleges and universities across the country. They officially graduated on Friday, May 24 at 9:00 a.m. in Ray Stadium.
