Softball tops Starkville to end season
Oaklynne Daugherty was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Meridian Wildcats past Starkville 14-3 on Tuesday. Daugherty drove in runs on a single in the first and a home run in the fifth.

Three Lady Wildcats make future plans
Jamesha Jones, Jaloria Hudson and Marion LeFlore all got to experience a special season as members of the MHSAA Class 6A state champion Meridian High School girls basketball team. Now, the three are looking forward to fulfilling their future dreams, as Jones is heading to Meridian Community College to continue her basketball career and Hudson and LeFlore are joining the National Guard.

Debreasha Powe named Gatorade Mississippi Girls Basketball Player of the Year
CHICAGO (March 9, 2022) — In its 37th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Debreasha Powe of Meridian High School is the 2021-22 Gatorade Mississippi Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Powe is the second Gatorade Mississippi Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Meridian High School.
