Good evening,

The MPSD School Board approved the elementary school reconfiguration plan beginning with the 2023-2024 school year during our school board meeting held tonight.

Here are the approved changes.

• Move Oakland Heights Students To A Better Facility (Carver)
• TJ Harris students will be divided between Carver and Crestwood
• Harris Lower would become our Little Wildcat Academy for all Pre-K students
• Harris Upper would become New Administrative Complex 

The Board also approved the District’s request to declare a State of Emergency at Carver to prepare for opening as an Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. This would allow the district to focus on installing restrooms in some classrooms and prepare the grounds for increased traffic.

More importantly, I would like to thank our educators, students, parents, and community for trusting us during this process as we reconfigure our elementary schools.
