MPSD teachers attend PD before start of 2nd Semester

Before students returned on January 8, 2019, MPSD teachers spent the day across the district gaining valuable information through several professional development sessions on Monday, January 7, 2019.

MPSD teachers met at the MHS auditorium to learn about the importance of building student relationships from speakers Donna Porter, a retired teacher, and DJ Batiste, her former student, during a professional development session on Monday, January 7, 2019. Porter and Batiste also met with teachers at schools in the district as well.

4th-grade teachers receive art training

4th-grade teachers receive art training

MPSD 4th-grade teachers attended an “MS to The MAX” professional development on Monday, January 7, 2019, presented by Nancy Ray, a teaching artist. The purpose of the training was to introduce arts integrated lesson plans focusing on Elvis and Jim Henson. MS to The MAX is the collaboration of a teaching artist with the MPSD 4th-grade teachers and students in the development and presentation of four arts integrated lesson plans culminating in a field trip to The MAX.
