Congratulations to veteran Meridian Public School District educator, Amy Grady for being named the 2019-2020 MPSD District Teacher of the Year. Grady found out about the honor during the MPSD Winter Convocation held on Monday, January 6, 2020, in the Meridian High School Auditorium.

“I felt honored, it is a wonderful accomplishment… a lot of hard work has been put into it for the 2019-20 school year,” said Grady. “I was elated to be chosen as the Meridian Public School’s Teacher of the Year.”

Grady has taught at Magnolia Middle School since 2005. She is currently teaching Mississippi Studies and Introduction to Geography, and she has also taught science.

“One of my favorite things about teaching is when the seniors at Meridian High take time during the week of graduation to come back and thank me for being a part of their lives and encouraging them to be the best they can be,” said Grady. “That is the joy of teaching.”
