Six MPSD schools receive Mississippi Arts Commission honors

Six schools in the Meridian Public School District were recently awarded Whole School and Model School status by the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Congratulations to the following schools:

Whole Schools

  • Crestwood Elementary
  • Oakland Heights Elementary
  • TJ Harris Lower Elementary
  • West Hills Elementary
  • Northwest Middle School

Model Whole School

  • Poplar Springs Elementary

Crestwood and West Hills moved up to the Whole Schools program from Arts in the Classroom!  Harris Lower, Northwest Middle and Oakland Heights were accepted in the Whole Schools program for another year.  Poplar Springs was named a Model School in the WS program again! 

“I would like to thank the Project Directors and administrators for the work that they have done in completing the grant application as well as the work that was completed last year that paved the way for this grant award,” said Clair Huff, MPSD District Arts Coordinator.
