MHS hosts Meet and Greet with Business Community

Members of the community were welcomed to the campus of Meridian High School on Thursday, September 2, 2021, for a Meet and Greet with principal Angela Mcquarley and Rob Smith, director of Ross Collins Career and Technical Center.

The evening featured a welcome by Deidre Bland, MPSD Community Engagement Specialist; followed by remarks from Mrs. McQuarley and Mr. Smith regarding the goals for MHS and Ross Collins for the upcoming year. Both stated that they were excited about the synergy between the high school and career tech center stating that by working as one they could accomplish great things.

MPSD Federal Programs Director, Kelli Speed, gave an update on how the district is utilizing CARES/ESSER 2/ESSER 3/ FY 22 Title Funds and the evening ended with remarks by Dr. Amy Carter, MPSD Superintendent.

One of the highlights of the event was school tours give to community members by MHS Ambassadors. The ambassadors that participated in the event were Elijah Brown, Marcus Matthews, Stepanie Cacapit, Amir Perkins, Jada Green, Jonathan Scarbrough, Kennedy Hearn, Jonathan Vaughn, Kaylee Hite, Alexa Wheaton, Hayleigh Keeton, and Kiersten White.
