MHS' Vaughn sets school record in 200 Meter Dash; claims state title


MHS' Jonathan Vaughn 

MHS junior Jonathan Vaughn won the 200 Meter Dash with a time of (21.90) becoming the 6A State Champion and setting a new school record in the 200 Meter Dash. He finished second in the 100 Meter Dash.

Sa’Nya McPhail finished second in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Sa’Nya has made tremendous progress this year. This is actually her first year running hurdles. She accepted the challenge to help the team and excelled beyond what anyone could have imagined. 

The Lady Cats 4x100 Meter Relay took second place. The relay consisted of Mailia Scott (7th grader), Jada Portis (11th Grader), Briana Gowdy(12th) & Teknetra Bastiste (12th). 

The Lady Cats & Cats entered the 6A State Meet competing in several events. The following students also competed among the elite 8 in their events:
