Wildcats split home and home with Petal
It came down to the last play, but the Wildcats were on the right end of a 5-4 victory on Tuesday night at Q.V. Sykes Park. The game was tied at four with the Wildcats batting in the bottom of the seventh, when John Lindsey III drew a walk, scoring the game-winning run.
Breylan Jones led the Wildcats to victory on the hill. The right-hander surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two-thirds of an inning, walking zero.
Britt Stringer took the loss for Petal. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on zero hits and striking out one.
James Carson started the game for the Wildcats. The pitcher surrendered four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out three.
Eli Waters started the game for the Panthers. Waters allowed three hits and two runs over six innings, striking out 11.
Petal 11, MHS 1
The Wildcats were back in action against Petal on Thursday, March 23, 2023, and suffered an 11-1 defeat. MHS is now 8-10 on the year will travel to Oak Grove on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
