The MHS Track and Field team competed in the Region 3-6A Track and Field Meet on Saturday, April 22, 2023, on the campus of Northwest Rankin High School. The Wildcats came away with a second-place team finish and the Lady Wildcats finished third as a team, with both teams competing in 18 events.

Several MHS Track and Field student-athletes set school records over the course of the day. Wildcat senior Jeffery Gathright set a NEW school record in the Boys' 100m Dash with a time of 10.64 and the 200m Dash at 21.64. Several Lady Wildcats set school records as well. Malia Scott set a NEW school record in the Girls' 100m Dash with a time of 12.15. Serenity Reed also set a NEW school record in the Girls' Triple Jump with a jump of 36-6.25. Both Scott and Reed are only freshmen.
