MHS' Wildcat Players win big at DramaFest Theatre Competition

Congratulations to the Meridian High School Department of Theatre & Performing Arts for putting on an outstanding performance of "Decoration Day: The Annihilation of Black Wall Street" at the Regional DramaFest Theatre Competition this past weekend.

They received the following awards at the competition:

"Distinguished play award"

"Peer choice award"

Xzavier Henderson received an all-star cast award for his acting abilities

Ollan Thomas received an all-star cast award for his acting abilities

Chad Alvarez received a special adjudicator’s award 

Shacobe Rush received a special adjudicator’s award 

Also, The Meridian High School WildCat Players will be taking their production of “Decoration Day: The Annihilation Black Wall Street” to state finals which will be hosted at the MSU Riley Center for Performing Arts in Meridian in January. Join us in congratulating the Meridian High School Department of Theatre.

The play was written and directed by MHS Theatre Instructor Mr. Randy Ferino Wayne, Jr.
