Hispanic Heritage Month Observance

The A-Team Science Club and Spanish Department sponsored the first Hispanic Heritage Month Observance at Meridian High School October 13 – 15, 2021.  A bulletin board featuring Frida Kahlo wearing an authentic Mexican dress, was set up in the hallway of the Main Building.  In addition, students read bios of prominent Hispanics on the morning announcements each day.  On Friday of the week, Spanish drinks and candy were given out to students.  A-Team Science Club Sponsors are Stacey Miller, Jim Harms, and Shwanna Jackson; Spanish Department Teachers are Sandra Simpson, Victoria Valdez, and Ashley Brown.

Community Service Project

A-Team Science Club at the Salvation Army

Members of the A-Team Science Club participated in a community service project at the Salvation Army Store on October 19, 2021. Students and teachers helped to sort and arrange donated clothes.  Participating were Shristi Srivastava, Te’Mya Smith, Karrington Lewis, Citlali Cosme along with sponsors Ms. Stacey Miller and Mr. Jim Harms.
