MERIDIAN, MS – During the January 2026 Regular Monthly Meeting, the Meridian Public School District (MPSD) Board of Trustees recognized the 2026 Teachers of the Year and the Administrator of the Year for their outstanding dedication to student success.

MPSD is closely monitoring the winter weather moving into the Meridian area this weekend. We are coordinating with local officials to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

MPSD District officials are closely monitoring the inclement winter weather forecast for our area this weekend, January 23–25, 2026.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We are staying in constant contact with local weather officials to determine if travel conditions will be safe for the start of the school week.

All Meridian Public School District Schools and Offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Meridian High School is proud to announce that the MHS Department of Theatre has been selected to perform at this year’s MLK Night of Culture at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, MS.

The number of 2024 Meridian High School seniors who scored a Gold, Silver, or Platinum on the ACT Workkeys when tested at Ross Collins Career and Technical Center.

Any Given Child
Arts Integrated City
The city of Meridian was selected in August of 2016 by the Kennedy Center for a multi-year, Pre-K-8 arts integration program called Any Given Child.

The Meridian Public School District has over 700 student-athletes that compete in extra-curriculuar activities.
